How to Change or Reset Your Email Password

If you recently migrated your email, received a temporary password, or can no longer sign in to your mailbox, you may need to change or reset your email password.

This guide explains how to change a temporary password, what to do if you've forgotten your password, and how to update the saved password in your email applications.

1. Access Your Email Through Webmail

Before troubleshooting your email application, try signing in through Cybernautic Webmail.

Webmail URL: https://mail.cybernautic.com/

  1. Open the webmail link in your browser.

  2. Enter your full email address.

  3. Enter your current email password.

  4. Sign in to your mailbox.

If you can sign in successfully, your account credentials are working. If you cannot sign in, double-check your email address and password before proceeding.

Important: If your email migration is still in progress, wait for Cybernautic to notify you that the migration is complete before changing your email settings.

2. How to Change Your Temporary Email Password

If Cybernautic provided you with a temporary password, follow the password-change instructions provided with your migration notification.

  1. Open the official password-change page provided by Cybernautic.

  2. Sign in using your email address and temporary password.

  3. Follow the instructions to create a new password.

  4. Save your new password securely.

  5. Sign in again using your new password to confirm that it works.

3. What If I've Forgotten My Email Password?

If you've forgotten your email password and cannot access your mailbox, follow these steps:

  1. Visit Cybernautic Webmail.

  2. Check whether the sign-in page provides a Forgot Password or password-reset option.

  3. If a reset option is available, follow the instructions provided.

  4. If no reset option is available, or the reset process does not work, contact Cybernautic Support.

For security reasons, support may need to verify your identity or account authorization before assisting with a password reset.

Security reminder: Do not repeatedly guess your password. If you continue to receive an authentication error, contact support rather than risk triggering account security restrictions.

4. Update Your Saved Password on Your Devices

After changing your email password, update the saved password in every email application or device that accesses your mailbox.

Otherwise, your applications may continue trying to connect with the old password, resulting in repeated sign-in prompts or synchronization errors.

Microsoft Outlook

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. If prompted, enter your new email password.

  3. If Outlook continues requesting your password, open your account settings.

  4. Locate your Cybernautic email account and review its sign-in or authentication settings.

  5. Update the saved credentials if your Outlook version provides that option.

  6. Restart Outlook and confirm that you can send and receive email.

Note: The exact steps may differ between Outlook versions.

Apple Mail on Mac

  1. Open Mail.

  2. If prompted, enter your new email password.

  3. If the problem continues, open Mail's account settings.

  4. Select your Cybernautic email account.

  5. Review the account's authentication settings and update the saved credentials if necessary.

  6. Reopen Mail and verify that the account connects successfully.

iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Navigate to the section containing your Mail accounts. The exact location depends on your iOS or iPadOS version.

  3. Select your Cybernautic email account.

  4. Review the account settings and update the password if the option is available.

  5. Open Mail and check whether your messages synchronize.

If your device does not allow you to update the password directly, consult the setup instructions for your device or contact Cybernautic Support before removing the account.

Mozilla Thunderbird

  1. Open Thunderbird.

  2. Allow it to connect to your email account.

  3. When prompted, enter your new password.

  4. If Thunderbird continues using the old credentials, open its saved-password settings.

  5. Locate the saved credentials associated with your Cybernautic email account and remove the outdated entry if necessary.

  6. Reconnect and enter your new password when prompted.

Note: The exact menu names may vary by Thunderbird version.

Other Email Applications

For other compatible email applications, open the account settings and update the saved password wherever the application supports it.

If the application continues using the old credentials, consult its documentation or contact Cybernautic Support for assistance.

5. Troubleshooting Common Password Problems

My email application keeps asking for my password.

This may happen when an application is still using your old password.

  • Confirm that your new password works through Cybernautic Webmail.

  • Update the saved password in your email application.

  • Restart the application and try again.

  • If the issue continues, contact Cybernautic Support.

I can sign in to webmail, but my email application cannot connect.

If webmail works but your email application does not, the problem may be related to saved credentials or account configuration.

Check your application's account settings and verify that the server information matches the official email setup instructions.

Refer to How to Set Up Your Email on Desktop and Mobile Devices After Email Migration for the configuration steps.

My new password works on one device but not another.

Each device or application may store its own copy of your email credentials.

Update the saved password on every device that accesses your mailbox. If a device continues to fail, check its account settings and saved credentials.

I cannot change or reset my password.

If you cannot access the password-change page, the reset option is unavailable, or your new password is repeatedly rejected, contact Cybernautic Support.

Include the exact error message and indicate whether you can sign in through webmail.

6. Keep Your Email Account Secure

Follow these recommendations to help protect your email account:

  • Use a strong, unique password that you do not use for other accounts.

  • Do not share your password with anyone.

  • Avoid saving your password on shared or public computers.

  • If you suspect that someone else has accessed your account, contact Cybernautic Support promptly.

  • Never send your password in a support ticket or email.

Cybernautic Support should not need you to disclose your current password to investigate a login problem.
