General Email Migration Questions

1. What is an email migration?

An email migration is the process of moving your email service and mailbox to a new email platform.

Cybernautic will notify you when your mailbox migration is complete and when you can begin using the new email configuration.

2. Do I need to change my email settings immediately?

No. Please wait until Cybernautic confirms that your email migration is complete before changing your email application settings.

Once you receive confirmation, follow the instructions in our email setup guide.

3. Will my email address change after the migration?

Your email address is not necessarily changed by a migration. Please continue using your existing email address unless Cybernautic has specifically informed you otherwise.

4. Can I continue using my current email application?

Yes. You can generally continue using your preferred email application, including Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, and Mozilla Thunderbird, provided it supports the required email configuration.

You will need to configure the application with the new server settings after your migration is complete.

5. Can I access my email on multiple devices?

Yes. You can generally configure your email account on multiple supported devices, such as your desktop computer, laptop, smartphone, and tablet.

Use the same email address and current password on each device, together with the correct incoming and outgoing mail settings.

Password and Account Access

6. What information do I need to set up my email?

You will need:

  • Your complete email address.
  • Your current email password.
  • The incoming and outgoing email server settings.

Refer to our email setup guide for the configuration details and instructions for your device.

7. Should I change my temporary password?

Yes. We recommend changing your temporary password before setting up your email application.

Use the password-change link provided by Cybernautic.

8. What should I do if I forget my email password?

Use the password-reset process provided by Cybernautic, if available. If you cannot reset your password or do not have access to the reset process, contact Cybernautic Support for assistance.

For security reasons, never send your password in a support ticket or email.

9. Why does my email application keep asking for my password?

This may happen if:

  • Your password was entered incorrectly.
  • Your email application is using an outdated saved password.
  • Your account settings are incorrect.
  • Your mailbox migration or account configuration is not yet complete.

Verify your credentials and server settings. If the problem continues, contact Cybernautic Support.

Email Configuration

10. What are the new incoming and outgoing mail server settings?

Use the following settings after Cybernautic confirms that your migration is complete.

Incoming Mail (IMAP)

  • Server: mail.cybernautic.com
  • Port: 993
  • Security: SSL/TLS
  • Username: Your complete email address

Outgoing Mail (SMTP)

  • Server: mail.cybernautic.com
  • Port: 465
  • Security: SSL/TLS
  • Authentication: Required
  • Username: Your complete email address

Use your current email password when prompted.

11. Should I use POP or IMAP?

We recommend IMAP, as specified in the setup instructions.

IMAP synchronizes your mailbox across supported devices, helping keep messages and folders consistent between your computer and mobile devices.

12. Can I configure my email automatically?

Some email applications may detect the correct settings automatically. However, automatic configuration is not guaranteed.

If the setup fails, select manual configuration and enter the server settings provided in our email setup guide.

13. Can I use webmail instead of configuring an email application?

Webmail may be available depending on your email service and account configuration.

Use the webmail address provided by Cybernautic for your migrated mailbox. If you do not know the correct webmail URL, contact Cybernautic Support.

14. Where can I access my email online?

You can access your email using the Cybernautic webmail portal at https://mail.cybernautic.com/. This lets you check your email through a web browser without configuring a desktop or mobile email application.

If you cannot sign in, verify that you are using the correct email address and password. If the problem continues, contact Cybernautic Support.

Sending and Receiving Emails

15. Why can I receive emails but cannot send them?

This commonly indicates an outgoing mail configuration or authentication issue.

Check that:

  • The outgoing server is mail.cybernautic.com.
  • The SMTP port is 465.
  • SSL/TLS encryption is enabled.
  • Outgoing mail authentication is enabled.
  • Your complete email address and current password are being used.

If you still cannot send messages, contact Cybernautic Support.

16. Why am I not receiving new emails?

Check the following:

  • Confirm that your migration is complete.
  • Verify that your email application is connected to the correct mailbox.
  • Check your internet connection.
  • Check your spam or junk folder.
  • Confirm that your incoming server settings are correct.

If new messages are still missing, contact Cybernautic Support.

17. What happened to my old emails and folders?

The availability of your existing messages and folders depends on the migration and synchronization status of your mailbox.

If messages or folders appear to be missing after migration, contact Cybernautic Support so the team can investigate.

18. Why are my emails not synchronizing across my devices?

First, confirm that all your devices are configured to use IMAP and the correct mailbox credentials.

Then check your internet connection and allow time for synchronization.

If messages remain inconsistent across devices, contact Cybernautic Support.

Mobile Devices and Email Applications

19. Can I set up my email on my iPhone or iPad?

Yes. You can configure your account in Apple Mail using the IMAP and SMTP settings in our email setup guide.

Wait for migration confirmation before making changes.

20. Can I set up my email on an Android phone?

You can generally configure your email using a compatible email application that supports IMAP and SMTP.

Enter the server settings provided in our email setup guide. The exact steps will depend on the email application you use.

21. Can I continue using Microsoft Outlook?

Yes. You can generally continue using Outlook for Windows or Mac.

After your migration is complete, update or configure your account using the new server settings. The steps may vary depending on your Outlook version.

Troubleshooting and Support

22. What should I do if I receive a certificate or security warning?

Do not automatically bypass the warning or accept an unverified certificate exception.

Check the server settings and contact Cybernautic Support if the warning persists. Our team can help verify the connection details.

23. What should I do if my email stops working after migration?

Check that:

  1. Cybernautic has confirmed your migration is complete.
  2. Your email application uses the correct server settings.
  3. You are using your current email password.
  4. Your device has a working internet connection.

If you still cannot send or receive emails, contact Cybernautic Support.

24. What information should I include when contacting support?

To help us investigate your issue efficiently, please provide:

  • Your email address.
  • The email application you are using.
  • Your device and operating system.
  • A description of the issue.
  • The exact error message, if one appears.
  • Whether you can send emails, receive emails, or neither.

Never include your email password in your support request.

25. Where can I find the complete email setup instructions?

Refer to our dedicated setup guide:

26.Do I need to remove my existing email account before setting up the new Cybernautic mail server?

Not necessarily. However, some email applications, particularly Apple Mail on iPhone and iPad, may not allow you to change fundamental account settings, such as the incoming mail server hostname, after the account has been initially configured.

If you cannot successfully update the existing account settings, you may need to remove the old account from your device and add it again using the new Cybernautic email settings.

Make sure your mailbox migration is complete before doing this.

27. Why can't I change my incoming mail server settings on my iPhone or iPad?

Apple's Mail app may lock certain account settings after the initial account verification. These can include the account protocol (IMAP or POP) and incoming server hostname.

If you cannot edit these settings successfully, remove the existing email account from your device and configure it again using the new settings provided in this guide.

28. Will removing my old email account delete my emails?

Removing an email account from your device does not delete the mailbox or messages stored on the mail server.

However, messages stored only locally on your device may be removed. Before deleting the account, make sure any messages you need to keep are synchronized with the mail server.

29. Why does Outlook for Mac keep trying to configure my email as a Microsoft Exchange account?

Outlook for Mac may automatically assume that your email account uses Microsoft Exchange.

When adding your Cybernautic email account, look for an option such as Not an Exchange account. Select this option, then choose IMAP as your account type.

If prompted, you may also need to select Sync with IMAP to continue with the setup.

30. Can I continue using IMAP with the new Cybernautic mail server?

Yes. Cybernautic email accounts use IMAP for incoming mail.

Use the following settings:

  • Incoming Server: mail.cybernautic.com

  • Incoming Port: 993

  • Connection Security: SSL

  • Outgoing Server: mail.cybernautic.com

  • Outgoing Port: 465

  • Connection Security: SSL

  • Authentication: Enabled

Use your complete email address and current email password for authentication.
